We have successfully installed more than 800 weather stations across diverse geographic and climatic regions, ranging from deserts and mountains to islands in the Arctic Ocean.

Various communication solutions from short-range LAN and Wi-Fi to LoRa, GSM and SAT and autonomous operation of high-demand systems for up to 12 months in the Far North.

Far North

Problem

Lack of reliable and timely weather, hydrological and climate information from regions of the Far North, such as Barents Sea, Kara Sea, Severnaya Zemlya, Franz Josef Land, Laptev Sea, East Siberian Sea and Wrangel Island.

Solution

We have developed and implemented data collection, power supply and communication systems for hard-to-reach extreme regions. More than 50 new automatic weather stations have been installed and put into operation as part of WMO network.

We incorporated solutions from trusted manufacturers like Vaisala, OTT, and R.M. Yang into the project, alongside our own developments in automated measuring equipment, ClearSky Data software, and constructional design solutions.

Modernization of Hydrological Network

Problem

Lack of reliable and timely hydrological and weather data, which is essential for issuing timely warnings, accurately forecasting hazards and reducing damage and risks. Urgent need to improve the accuracy of seasonal river flow forecasts.

Solution

We've developed and installed an automated system for precise hydrological data collection, alongside a centralized monitoring, registration, storage, and hazard notification system. Over 100 hydrological posts have been integrated into the global WMO network.

Modernization of observation network

Problem

The impact of climate change remains a challenge and requires further strengthening of the national capacity to adapt and protect the people. Necessity of providing better access to reliable and abundant observation data from the vast territory, thus contributing to more accurate global forecasting.

Solution

Hundreds of stations have undergone modernization in multiple aspects, including automation of data collection, crucial enhancements in timeliness and accuracy, new communications and data transferring solutions, and implementing stable power supply systems. A fundamentally new system for collecting, processing and storing data was also implemented.

Solution

We created software to collect, process and visualise data from a weather balloon. It performs wind shear calculations, determines the tropopause, other parameters and physical phenomena.

Centralised meteorological data collection system

Problem

The absence of a modern fault-tolerant and highly loaded system for collecting and storing data from hundreds of new meteorological stations throughout Russia.

Solution

We created an extensible system for collecting data from hundreds of stations based on a microservice architecture. The team implemented customizable interfaces for reports, graphs and data from photo recorders. The system is integrated into the transport network of Roshydromet.

Problem

The absence of a centralized modern analytical and calculation system for input of hydrological data and preparation of monthly and annual reporting.

Solution

We created a centralized system for input and storage of hydrological data, which makes it possible to enter large amounts of information through a web interface, perform various calculations and generalizations, and also form scientific literature for printing.
